Christmas Shopping, consider a few of these ideas for your favorite people!

With Christmas coming soon, many people are thinking about giving the gift of baked goods to friends and family.  While cupcakes are a great gift, why not share your love of baking with friends and family this year?  Baking supplies are a great gift for the bakers in your life.  When you are ready to start your Christmas shopping, consider a few of these ideas for your favorite people.

Kids love to bake, and having their own baking supplies can make them feel all grown up.  Consider creating a cupcake baking gift basket for the young ones in your life.  Check out some of the fun cupcake baking kits just for kids that include everything you need to make fun cupcakes in kid-friendly themes.  These include both girl favorites, such as princesses, and boy motifs, like sports and dinosaurs.  Consider purchasing a few basic supplies, a super cool apron, and making a baking gift basket or box for your favorite pint-sized baker.

Finding the right gifts for your fellow bakers can be easier than you think with some of the great new products on the market. One thing that everyone can use is a new calendar, and there is a whole line of baking-related calendars available,  including decorating ideas, new recipes, and fun cupcake facts.

If your favorite baker has to spend time in an office, consider a boxed calendar that features a new cupcake each day, such as “The Cupcake Calendar 2012 Box/Daily”.  Baking diva Martha Stewart offers the “2012 Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes” wall calendar that has baking tips and facts, plus new cake toppers for every event.  If you are looking for a little inspiration, try the “Hello, Cupcake!” 2012 wall calendar, which has fun ideas for every month.

Consider holding a cupcake gift exchange this year among friends and family who also love to bake.  Ask each person to bring enough of their signature cupcake for everyone invited, along with the cupcake recipe used to create it.  Then, hold a gift exchange by asking each person to bring a cupcake-related baking item that costs $20 or less (ideas include silicone cupcake cups, fondant cutters, aprons, whisks, spatulas, recipe books, or a cupcake calendar).  Attach a number to each gift, and then have each person draw a number to determine which gift he or she will take home.  Holding a cupcake gift exchange in the early part of December gives everyone lots of ideas and inspiration for the coming baking season.
